BioDinah Laurel Lance is the second DC superheroine known as the Black Canary. Her mother, Dinah Drake Lance was the first. Being the daughter of the first Black Canary did not make Dinah's rise to being a superhero an easy one. Though young Dinah was spoiled and trained by her "uncles" in the JSA, the original Black Canary did not want the same life for her daughter as she had chosen.
By the age of nineteen, however, Dinah had donned her mother's blond wig and fishnets and was living the life she wanted regardless.
Dinah's a florist by trade and currently the JLA chair person. Her skills include being one of the top martial artists in the DC Comics universe, having trained with Lady Shiva herself. Her favorite people in the world include Roy Harper and his daughter, the JSA, and the Birds of Prey.
Current canon is not kind to Dinah. She is currently little more than some blond trophy Oliver Queen is married to. I do not like that canon, however, I will occasionally write from current canon, no matter how awful it truly is. Mostly, I will probably ignore it, because Dinah deserves a lot better than Oliver Queen.
